OF AXIS WAR LOSSES IN TUNISIA TOTAL OF 324,000 MEN. FROM ATTACK ON MARETH LINE ONWARDS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, May 19. The National Broadcasting Corporation’s Algiers correspondent says it is officially stated that after the attack against the Mareth Line, 324,000 Axis personnel were put out of action, including 267,000 taken prisoner, 30,000 killed and 27,000 seriously wounded. The Allies took 224,000 prisoners between May 5 and May 18.
