MAGISTRATE’S COURT
SITTING IN MASTERTON. TRAFFIC OFFENDERS DEALT WITH. The fortnightly sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court was held this morning. Mr H. P. Lawry, .S.M., was on the Bench. In the following cases the Borough Traffic Inspector, Mr J. McGregor, prosecuted. Edwin John Esler was fined 5s and 10s costs on a charge of operating a vehicle without having a current warrant of fitness. Senior Sergeant C. Murphy said the warrant was two weeks overdue from the date for renewal. On a similar charge Hector Carlson was fined £1 and 10s costs. J. E., McMullin was fined £2 and 10s costs on a charge of having operated a motor vehicle with only one headlight, burning. Mr Lawny said the fact that only the kerbside lamp was burning made the offence doubly dangerous as there was. an increased danger of a collision. J. C. Fitzgerald was fined £2 and 10s costs on a charge of having operated a motor vehicle without having a heavy traffic licence. Civil Case. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil claim: —Violet Eleanor .Scott v. Ronald Pratt, claim £1 6s sd, costs 9s.
