AFRICAN VICTORY

THANKSGIVING SERVICES. THROUGHOUT NEW ZEALAND TOMORROW. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, announced last evening that it was proposed, to mark the victory in North Africa by the holding of thanksgiving services in the churches throughout the Dominion tomorrow. The proposal had the approval of his Excellency the Governor-General, and the leaders of the churches in. New Zealand had been approached and had readily agreed to make the necessary arrangements to fall in with the Government's wishes. Mr Fraser said he felt sure that all members of the community would welcome this opportunity of joining in thanksgiving for the successful outcome of the North African campaign. Thanksgiving services will be held at all Church of England centres in the Wairarapa tomorrow. Reference to the victory will be made in other churches in the district.
