AMERICAN RAID

ON NORTHERN FRANCE MADE BY LARGEST FORCE TO DATE. DESTRUCTION OF ENEMY FIGHTERS. LONDON, May 13. The biggest force of American heavy bombers ever to go out from this country raided Northern France today. They pounded an enemy aircraft factory and repair sheds 20 miles east of Amiens and also the airfield at St Omer. The results are officially described as good. St Omer is the main enemy fighter base in Northern France. The bombers were escorted by British. Dominions, American and other Allied fighters. Fighters destroyed six enemy aircraft and the bombers destroyed many more.
