KNOX CHURCH

LADIES’ SOCIAL GUILD. The monthly meeting of the Knox Ladies’ Social Guild was held in the McGregor Hall, Mrs G. D. Morice presiding over a good attendance. Letters of appreciation were read from Mesdames Ross, McGregor and Lieutenant A. J. Lomas, overseas. On behalf of the Red Cross Society, the president wished to remind members of the shop day to be held on May 28, and also on behalf of Mrs Stewart. She appealed for help for the hospital. Anyone wishing to help in this matter was requested to ring Mrs Stewart or Mrs Morice. A solo was contributed by Miss Joan Douglas, a recitation duet by Margaret Traynor and Jeanette Gooder and a pianoforte duet by Miss N. Wright and Mr E. Wright. A competition was won by-Miss N. Wright. A vote of thanks was passed to the hostesses, Mesdames D. McGregor, Henderson, Campbell and Miss McPhee and to those who contributed items. A bring and buy stall was held for the chaplain fund.
