PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MEETING OF MISSIONARY UNION. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union held a successful bring and buy afternoon in the Presbyterian Hall yesterday. The stall-holders and takings were: —Produce, Mesdames Arch. Clark and J. Buck and Miss PollockSmith, £l3 8s 21d; cake, Mesdames C. Buck and G. E. Yule, £2 Is lid; tea rooms, Mrs Anderson and Miss Towart, £1 4s. The funds are to go to missions in China and India. WOMEN’S DIVISION BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. The Featherston branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union held its annual meeting recently, Mrs Brandon presiding over a fair attendance of members. The election of officers resulted:— Patroness, Mrs D. H. S. Riddiford; president, Mrs G. Brandon; hon. vicepresident, Miss Card; vice-presidents,. Mesdames Arch. Clark, E. Wakely and Q.. Donald; advisory members, Miss Card, Mesdames J. G. McKenzie and Q. Donald; secretary, Mrs W. Feast; treasurer, Miss Goodrich; delegate to Provincial Council, Mrs Arch. Clark. Mrs Clark gave an interesting talk on the division’s Rest Home in Palmerston North and on the housekeeping branch of the division’s work. The tea hostesses were Mesdames Sharp and A. Clark. A successful bring and buy stall was held. Service Club. There was a good attendance at the Service Club euchre tourney held on Tuesday night. The winners were: Mrs Gardiner 1, Mrs Habib 2. A competition was won by Mrs Day. COSY THEATRE TWO BIG FEATURES. Two big features are starred in the programme to be presented at the Cosy Theatre tomorrow night. “This Time for Keeps,” a gay comedy, has Ann Rutherford, Robert Stirling and Guy Kibbee in the leading roles. In “Half Way to Shanghai,” a mystery thriller, Irene Hervey and Kent Taylor take the principal parts.
