OBITUARY

MR E. L. THOMSON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WAIROA, This Day. As a result of a seizure late yesterday, Mr Elliot Leslie Thomson passed away. Mr Thomson, who was 65 years of age, was manager at Wairoa for Messrs Williams and Kettle for 28 years. Later he took over the local managership of the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Company, which position he occupied up to the time of his death. Mr Thomson was chairman of directors of the “Wairoa Star,” an officer of the Waikaremoana Lodge and a South African War veteran. He also filled a number of other positions on local business and sporting organisations.
