VISITING WASHINGTON

BRITISH PRIME MINISTER TALKS WITH PRESIDENT FIFTH MEETING OF TWO STATESMEN. MILITARY AND NAVAL EXPERTS PRESENT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.18 p.m.s> RUGBY, May 11. Mr Churchill has arrived in the United States, states a Washington message. It is officially stated that the Prime Minister is there for another conference with President Roosevelt. This is Mr Churchill’s third visit to America since December, 1941, and his fifth meeting with President Roosevelt since August, 1941, when the two statesmen drafted the Atlantic Charter. Their most recent meeting was at Casablanca. The first news of the British Prime Minister’s visit to Washington was given in an announcement issued at White House by Mr Stephen Early, President Roosevelt’s secretary. Mr Churchill was met by the President on his arrival and will be the President’s guest for the duration of his visit. Mr Churchill is accompanied by a staff of military and naval experts. It is noVyet revealed who the members of Mr Churchill’s party are, but it is known that Lord Beaverbrook is in Washington.
