SERVICE APPEALS

ARMED FORCES BOARD SITTING IN MASTERTON. SEVERAL CASES DISMISSED. The No. 2 Armed Forces Appeal Board (Napier), continued its sitting in Masterton yesterday afternoon and this morning when a number of appeals relating to service in the forces were dealt with. Mr H. B. Lusk presided and there were present: Messrs W. H. Barry, F. R. Field and J. C. Corbishley (secretary and Crown representative).

In the following cases the name of the person lodging the appeal is given in parentheses:— Dismissed, reservists to serve after July 1, 1943: Henry Percy Blatchford, farm hand (Douglas Blatchford); John O’Leary Peters, farmer (reservist); Archie" Scott, dairy farm hand (Henry Harwood Scott); Athol Edward Wadham, farmer (Edward Cornelius Wadham).

Adjourned to August 1: Donald Garth McLachlan, farmer (Percy D. McLachlan); William Robert Dick, farm hand (Albert D. Hansen); Gordon H. K. Weggery, dairy farmer (Director of National Service), more efforts to be made to have reservist released for service.
