INDOOR BASKETBALL
MANY EXCITING CONTESTS INTERHOUSE ASSOCIATION COMPETITION. A large crowd in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium, Masterton, last night witnessed several keenly contested and exciting contests when the Wairarapa Interhotise' Association continued its indoor basketball competition. The standard of play was high and that it is still on the up-grade is due to the many hours of training put in by the teams under their American and New Zealand coaches. The games were put through expeditiously and the officials efficiently carried out their duties. Results: — Hansells B beat McDuffs B, 10-3; McKenzies beat W.F.C.A. B, 9-3; Cody’s beat Garages, 21-4; Transport beat Cathies B, 12-6; Woolworths beat McDuff’s, 12-9; Lancers beat Hansell’s A, 7-4; Borthwicks beat Rangers B, 15-7; Cathies A beat United, 15-12; Rangers A drew with C. Smiths, 8-8; Hosiery Mills beat Sparklets, 11-3. The referees were Messrs Baxter and Cornelius, of the U.S. Marine Corps.
