AWARD TO AIRMAN

PILOT OFFICER R. J. TAAFFE. DISTINGUISHED FLYING MEDAL. Pilot Officer R. J. Taaffe, formerly of the head office staff of Messrs T. Borthwick & Sons, Ltd., Masterton, has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal. Advice to this effect was received last night by Pilot Officer Taaffe’s parents, who reside in Hastings. Before joining the Air Force he was for about four years at the Masterton office of Messrs T. Borthwick & Sons and his many friends here will join in sending him their congratulations of this recognition of his services. He is at present serving in Tunisia.
