PIGEON RACING
MASTERTON CLUB RESULTS. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held the last race of the young bird season from Napier, an airline distance of 120 miles, for the I. Mayes cash special prize. The weather conditions were overcast, with a slight westerly wind.
The following were the results: — J. Tilyard’s “Stardust,” time 3 hrs. 24 mins. 30 secs., 1; L. Wickens’s “Sky Queen,” time 3 hrs. 26 mins. 59 secs., 2; Stewart and Son’s “Imperium King,” time, 3 hrs. 31 min, 39 secs., 3; N. Gardner’s “High Ideal,” time 3 hrs. 33 mins. 49 secs. 4; A. Pinkney’s “The Clipper,” time 3 hrs. 34 mins. 39 secs., 5. The points prize resulted: —Stewart and Sons, 89 points, 1; A. Pinkney, 79 points, 2; L. Wickens, 56 points, 3. The winners of the raffle held by the club were: Mrs Stewart 1, Mr Bell, 95 Cornwall Street, 2.
