Italian casualties on all fronts since the outbreak of war total 46,693 killed, 113,735 wounded, the Rome radio stated. The total, it was added, includes 22.728 killed and 49,825 wounded in the Balkans; 15,226 killed and 23,588 wounded in Africa, and 667 killed and 36,303 wounded on the Eastern front.

The number of Italian prisoners held by the Allies exceeds considerably the alleged total casualties given above.
