PANIC ACTION

TAKEN BY THE GERMANS IN HOLLAND FOUR PROVINCES UNDER MARTIAL LAW. REPORTS OF ACUTE TENSION. LONDON, May 9. It is reported tonight that four provinces in Holland have been under martial law since May 1. The Netherlands Press Agency says three of the provinces border the Zuider Zee and the fourth is along the German frontier. A ’ curfew has also been imposed throughout Holland from 8 p.m. 1 to 6 a.m. The Dutch Premier describes the German decree as a panic measure. Holland is stated to be in a state of extreme tension. The Germans are trying to muzzle the Dutch Press and radio. Tomorrow will be the anniversary of the German invasion of the Netherlands.
