MASTERTON WOMEN’S LEAGUE ANNUAL MEETING HELD V YESTERDAY. YEAR’S WORK REVIEWED. / The annual meeting of the Women’s National Welfare League was held yesterday at the Women’s Rest Room, Dixon Street, Masterton. Those present were: Miss Kummer 'in the chair), Mesdames S. Fletcher, L. Hunter, S. J. Munn, G. McCracken, E. J. Brown, A. W. McKenzie, F. Garland, R. Whyborn, H. P. Harrison, R. C. Drummond, H. J. Francis and S. N. Kilgour (secretary). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames T. Jordan, J. Caselberg, G. G. Tolhurst, F. Morton J. B. Carruthers, W. Wardell, G. H. Collie, J. Mcßae, H. E. Pither, Misses Vallance (2), Cameron (2), Guild and F. Maupsell. * A vote of sympathy was passed to Miss Kummer in her recent bereavement and members stood in silence as a mark of respect. The election of officers resulted:—President, Miss Kummer; vice-presidents, Mesdames T. Jordan, H. E. Pither, R. C. Drummond, S. Fletcher, A. W. McKenzie and G. G. Tolhurst: hon. secretary, Mrs S. N. Kilgour • hon. treasurer, Mrs S. J. Munn; hon. auditor, Mr Norman James; life members, Mesdames S. Fletcher, S. Coradine, S. N. Kilgour J.P.; hon. members, Mesdames Dr. Helen Cowie, Cook, Rich, Scharnweber, Dunderdale Senr., and Miss Dakin; Red Cross delegates, Mrs H. P. Harrison, J.P., and Miss Guild; hospital. Mesdames R. C. Drummond and R Whvborn; convenors of committees, Buchanan Home, Miss Kummer and Mrs S. J. Munn; Social Welfare, Mrs A W. McKenzie; Blind Institute, Mrs H. E. Pither, A.N.A. Club, Wellington, Mrs J. B. Carruthers; lighthouses, Mrs S. N. Kilgour. Mrs Drummond reported that two visits were paid to the public hospital during April. Teas fruit and cake were distributed to No. 6 ward and literature to other wards. The visitors to the hospital for May 11 mid 25 would be Mesdames Drummond, F. Garland and Miss Kummer. . Mrs McKenzie reported that one social welfare case was attended to, clothes, etc., b Mre reported that a pamper would be sent to the A.N.A. Club, Wellmgton, next week. Donations of money or kind should be left at Ninnes’s shop. Avote of thanks to Mr Ninnes was passed for his assistance in accepting parcels for the A.N.A. Club. This was greatly appreciated by the Le it g was stated that Voluntary Aids were needed for kitchen work at the public hosall friends who had helped with donations, clothes etc . during the year. Miss Kummer thanked all officers and executive members for their help during the vear Posies and shoulder sprays were presented and afternoon tea brought the meeting to a close. ...
