MAGISTRATE’S COURT

FORTNIGHTLY MASTERTON SITTING. CIVIL AND OTHER CASES. The fortnightly sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court was held today. Mr H. P. Lawry S.M. was on the Bench. Leo Montague Berill was fined 10s. and 12s. costs on a charge of having operated a motor vehicle without a warrant of fitness. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil cases: — N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency v. H. Richards, claim £1 2s 6d, costs 9s; W. E. Cody v. R. R. Simpson, claim £4 15s 6d, costs £1 7s 6d. In a judgment tenancy case, A. W. McKenzie and W. Kemp v. Charles Ewen, an order was made for possession within 25 days.
