CONVERSION INTO WEAPONS IN BRITAIN.

(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, May 5. The Ministry of Works intends to break up 250,000 disused motor-cars in the next 18 months for war weapons. Car-breakers throughout Britain are already dealing with 1500 vehicles a week. It is estimated that after the removal of spare parts for further use the vehicles will yield 20,000 tons of iron and steel, 500 tons of cast aluminium, 100,000 tires for retreading, 125 tons of rubber for reclaiming, and 250 tons of textiles.
