LABOUR ATTACK

ON GOVERNOR OF NORTHERN IRELAND ACCUSED OF FAVOURING UNIONIST PARTY. DEMAND FOR A GENERAL ELECTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, May 3. The Northern Ireland Labour Party has issued a statement: “A precedent has not existed for the Governor calling on a member of the same party which has so miserably failed to form a government without consultation with the leaders of other parties. The Governor has allowed himself to become an instrument for the perpetuation of the Unionist Party dictatorship. The only solution of the present situation is a general election. In no other way can the co-operation of the workers and a hundred per cent war effort be secured.”
