INDOOR BASKETBALL
MANY THRILLING GAMES INTERHOUSE ASSOCIATION COMPETITION. LAST NIGHT’S RESULTS. The Wairarapa Interhouse Association continued its indoor basketball competitions in the Y.M.C.A. gymnasium, Masterton, last night. There was a large and appreciative audience. Many thrilling games were witnessed, and the standard of play showed a marked improvement on that in previous games.
Members of the Marine Corps have been training the teams, and the results were shown in the high standard set in last night’s games. The referees were V. E. Baxter and “Bud” Waidelick, of the U.S. Marine Corps, who controlled the games admirably. The games were decided promptly and reflected creditably on the work of the secretary, Mr G. Davis. Results: Hansell’s B beat Cathie’s, 10/2; Hosiery Mills beat McKenzie’s, 14/6; Sparklets beat W.F.C.A. B, 6/5; Rangers B beat McDuff’s, 11/2; United
beat Woolworth’s, 13/8; Rangers beat Hansell’s, 2/0; Borthwick’s beat Transport, 7/0; Cathie’s A beat McDuff’s, 22/6; C. Smith’s beat Garages, 4/2; Lancers beat Cody’s, 10/4.
