KOPUARANGA

FAREWELL SOCIAL MRS S. L. HATCH HONOURED. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at a farewell social held in the Kopuaranga Hall on Saturday night, when parents and school children and many visitors gathered to honour Mrs S. L. Hatch, the school teacher, who is leaving the district. The hall was beautifully decorated with tree ferns and streamers by Mrs Hansen and Miss M. Cottle. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mr J. West and Mr H. McArthur. Mr Ben Fenemore was a capable M.C. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss P. Cottle and Mr *T. Fenemore, and a lucky spot competition was won by Mrs Caldwell and Dr. Hall. During the evening the school children gave a selection of songs. Home-made supper was served by the children. On behalf of the school children, Eileen White made an appropriate speech and presented Mrs Hatch with a picture. In returning thanks, Mrs Hatch said that her stay in the district had been a pleasant one.
