TOLL TAKEN
OF GERMAN PATROL CRAFT IN NORTH SEA ONE SUNK & TWO OTHERS SET ON FIRE. SOME CASUALTIES ON BRITISH SHIPS. LONDON, May 2. British light naval forces again came off best in another hard-fought clash in the North Sea yesterday, this time against heavily-armed German patrol ships. After three-quarters of an hour of battle at close range, the enemy broke off the action. One enemy ship was sunk and two others were left burning fiercely. It was not likely that these two ships would be able to make port. The British ships suffered a few casualties, but only slight damage, and all got back to harbour.
