DAY & NIGHT ATTACKS ON GERMANY AND ON OCCUPIED TERRITORY. AMERICANS BOMB ST. NAZAIRE. LONDON, May 2. The weather was bad, both going there and coming back and it was dillienlt to judge results. Seven bombers did not get back. On Friday night R.A.F. heavy bombers, in spite of severe icing conditions made another heavy and destructive raid on Essen. Thirteen of the aircraft engaged are missing. A total of 10,000 tons of bombs has now been dropped on Essen, the principal centre of German war industry. Last night the R.A.F. was again busy laying mines to menace German ships.
