POPPY DAV APPEAL WAIRARAPA TOTAL £592. FIGURES FOR VARIOUS CENTRES Poppy Day sales in the Wairarapa this year totalled £592 14s 7d, which is the highest amount ever recorded for this appeal. The Wairarapa R.S.A. desires to acknowledge the under-mentioned amounts in connection with the recent Poppy Day appeal: Masterton, per Mrs T. Jordan, £373 15s 9d; Mauriceville, per Mrs C. M. Childs, £7 16s; Tinui, per Rev W. Tye, £26 7s 3d; total for Masterton and district, £407 19s; Carterton, £7B Os Id; Grey town, £3O; Featherston, per Miss H. Card, £46 7s; Martinborough, £3O 8s 6d; grand total, £592 14s 7d. This amount is an increase of £lO3 7s over last year’s record and is equivalent to the sale of 11,855 poppies. The association desires to express its sincere thanks to the ladies of the Wairarapa who worked so willingly for this appeal and also to the public for its liberal response.
