RECORD ENTRY OF PIGS
AT CARTERTON SALE YESTERDAY. LATE RATES MAINTAINED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co.. Ltd., report as follows on theii- Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep and cattle and a record entry of 660 pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Fat lambs, 22s to 245; light fat lambs, 19s to 21s; light fat wethers, 22s- to 22s Gd; ewe lambs, to 10s Cd; b.f. lambs, 12s to 13s; b.f. lambs (small), 7s 2d, 9s, 9s 6d: W.w. lambs, 8s 3d to 9s 8d : shorn wr. lambs. Gs to 9s sd; 2-th wethers, to 20s; 2-th. wethers (small), to 14s Gd; small 2-th ewes, to 13s 3d: small m.s. lambs, to 5s 9d; cull lambs, Is to 3s. Cattle: Jersey cow, just calved, to £l2; springing heifers, £8 to £9 ss; Jersey heifer, just calved, to £7 10s; Jersey heifers, r.w. bull, £5 7s 6d to £7 2s 6d; fat Hereford cows, £7 7s Gd, £7 14s, £8 2s, £8 6s to £8 7s; fat cows, ex-dairy, £5 ss, £5 19s, £7 6s to £8; forward cows, £3 7s, £3 Ils, £3 17s to £4 12s 6d; store cows, 255, 30s, 355, £2 10s, | £2 17s, to £2 19s; heifer calves, 34s to 375; cows and calves, £G 5s to £G 15s; bulls, to £3. Pigs: Baconers, £3 17s, £4 to £4 10s: heavy porkers, £2 15s, £2 19s, £3 7s to £3 13s; porkers, £2 4s, £2 7s, £2 9s, £2 Ils to £2 12s 6d; light porkers, 395, £2 Is to £2 2s 6d; forward stores, 34s to 38s: store pigs, 21s. 225, 26s 6d to 30s; slips, 12s, 14s, 17s to 18s: weaners, good. 8s 6d, 9s, 9s 6d to 10s; weaners, medium, 6s to 8s; weaners, small. 3s, 5s to 5s Gd: choppers, £3 10s, £4, £5 ss, £5 10s tq £G 12s Gd; Berkshire boars to £3 7s Gd. _________________
