SERVICE CLUB A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at the euchre party held by the Service Club cn Tuesday night when a most enjoyable time was spent, as is always the case at these popular gatherings. The first prize was won by Pte. Campbell, with Mrs Habib second. A competition was won by Mrs Charles. Personal. Mrs Webster and Mrs Burnstein, Wellington, are the guests of Mrs C. Corlet, Pahautea. * Gathering at Pahautea. The Pahautea branch of the Women’s Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union held a very successful euchre party and dance in the Pahautea hall on Monday night, there being a large attendance. The music was provided by the Pirinoa Orchestra and Miss Tocker played an extra. Mr S. Grant was M.C. A Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss J. Hood and partner. •Songs were contributed by Mrs Connell a,nd Miss Hector and much appreciated. Mr H. Graham organised a copper trail which realised £2 Os lid. A dinner competition was won by Mr J. Cole. The euchre tournament resulted:— Ladies: Mrs Hubbard, 1; Mrs G. Sadler,
2. Men: Mr G. Enoka, 1; Mr E. Corlet, 2. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee. The entertainment realised: the sum of £2O 5s Bd. COSY THEATRE DOUBLE PROGRAMME. Tomorrow night there will be a double programme—“Birth of the Blues,” an excellent musical comedy, featuring Bing Crosby, and “The Tower of Terror,” a thrilling drama with Wilfrid Lawson in the chief role.
