SECONDARY INDUSTRIES

POST WAR CONSTRUCTION. POSITION IN REGARD TO LAND SALES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. At the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party, the following recommendations regarding post-war reconstruction and land sales were adopted:—That in providing for postwar reconstruction the Government be requested to set up a committee of experts to draw up plans for the development of secondary industries, in order to ensure that workers who have been engaged in the production of munitions are not called on to suffer undue hardship during the transition from a war to a peacetime economy. That the conference requests the Government immediately to investigate the present position regarding sales of land with a view to controlling inflation of land prices.
