NEW ZEALAND FINANCE
LABOUR PARTY’S POLICY.
RECOMMENDATION TO GOVERNMENT.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day.
A recommendation by the finance and policy committee that as the need for revenue was so continuous, no alterations should be made in the present taxation system that would reduce revenue, was carried by delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party yesterday. It was agreed, however, to forward remits urging an investigation into the taxation system, with a view to certain readjustments, to the Government for consideration. These included raising the £2OO exemption for income tax purposes, and making more clear the purpose of the 2s 6d in the £ wage tax.
