HOLIDAY RACING

WAIRARAPA MEETING EVENTS AT TAUHERENIKAU. (“Times-Age” Special.) The weather was dull and warm but remained fine for the first day, on Saturday, of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter meeting at Tauherenikau. The large holiday crowd was treated to first class racing. The meeting was admirably conducted and the programme was put through promptly and to time. The totalisator handled £24,320 for the day, which was an increase of £7,352 on £16,978 put through on the first day of the last meeting held by the club at the New Year of 1940. The track was in first class order. In the main event, the Esater Handicap, the consistent Nighean scored an easy win.
