TIDE HAS TURNED
GREETINGS FROM NEW ZEALAND DIVISION. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) CAIRO, April 24. Lieutenant-General Freyberg has issued the following Anzac Day message: —“On this Anzac Day, from the battlefield in Tunisia, New Zealanders send Greetings to their comrades in Australia, New Zealand and the South-west Pacific. “The tide has turned after three years. You can realise our feelings at' being able to send, good news instead of news of grim rearguard actions and hard-fought retreats which has been borne so bravely at home. Our inherited Anzac tradition has always been before us. We have been hard pressed in Greece, Crete and the Western Desert, but it was then the Anzac spirit was most evident. We know that the reverses were because of the odds against us, and not because of the failure of our men.”
