MANY AIR ATTACKS

ON JAPANESE IN NORTHERN BURMA. LIBERATORS BOMB RANGOON. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10 a.m.) RUGBY, April 23. An India communique states: “Blenheims yesterday bombed Japanese troops near Sittaung and in the Upper Chindwin area. All the bombs in both attacks were seen to burst in the target area. Both were followed ’ by low-level machine-gunning. Other Blenheims made attacks on enemy objectives in the Mayu battle area. Fighters also made attacks in the battle area and damaged a variety of targets, including hutments and signal equipment. Last night Liberators bombed the Rangoon marshalling yards. All our aircraft returned safely.”
