WAIRARAPA CLUB. EASTER MEETING WILD OPEN ON SATURDAY. Splendid acceptances have been received for the first day of the Wairarapa Racing Club’s meeting on Saturday. The Tauherenikau course is reported to be in good order and a competent and hard working band of officials have made all arrangements to ensure the smooth running of the meeting. Light refreshments will be available and there will be a bus service to and from the Featherston railway station. The totalisator will operate under the single pool system. The first race will start at 11.30 a.m. The following are horses which will probably find favour with the public:— Maiden Plate: Enlarge, Home Rule. Mokai Handicap: Olein, Condole. Tuhitarata Highweight: Po-Huka, Colincamps.

Easter Handicap: Enrich, Lowry Bay. Wairarapa Nursery: Master Dash, Walk Off.

Kahutara Handicap: Dungloe, Matalite. Martinborough Handicap: Cheerful Lady, Lotto. Ferry Hack: Gynerio, Wedding Dress. Canterbury Meeting. Horses which will probably be in demand for the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting on Monday may include:— ’ Great Easter Handicap: Poutatau, Lord Nuffield, The Champ. Great Autumn Handicap: Royal Lancer, The Joker, Palfrey. Auckland Meeting. The favoured runners in the main events at the Auckland meeting on Saturday will probably be:— Easter Handicap: Lord Chancellor, Rakanui, Clarice. Brighton Hurdles: Kanui te Pai, Student Prince, Acreman. Feilding Meeting. The public will most likely favour the chances of the following horses for the chief races on the card at Feilding on Saturday:— Feilding Cup: Yogi, Battledress, Full Hand. Manaone Handicap: Koi Ragi, Black Robe, Silver Mist.
