Bowling Club.

The Greytown Bowling Club closed the season on Saturday when a working bee was formed. The whole of the surface was gone over with an electric drill and it is estimated that over 100,000 holes were made in the green. Previous to this a large steel wheel was drawn over the surface by a tractor to remove the bumps which were apparent after’ the earthquake. The green supervisor, Mr F. Dennes, and his team are confident that next season the green will be vastly improved as the result of the work. Induction Service. The induction of the newly-appoint-ed minister, the Rev. J. Woolford, was held in the Methodist Church on Monday night. The ceremony was carried cut by the Rev. G. Knowles-Smith, assisted by the Rev. J. Grice, of Carterton, and the Rev. Hedley White. Anthems were rendered by the choir. Following the service a welcome social gathering was held in the schoolroom when representatives of the various church departments extended a welcome to the new minister.
