SECOND FRONT PLEA
DROPPED BY LORD BEAVERBROOK HOUSE OF LORDS SURPRISED (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 20. Lord Beaverbrook surprised the House of Lords by announcing that he proposed to drop his “second front now” plea, contained in a motion calling the Government’s attention to the opportunity of opening a second front in Europe in view of the successful progress of the Tunisian campaign. Lord Beaverbrook gave no reason for the withdrawal.
