VALUABLE SERVICE
IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
TRIBUTES TO NEW ZEALAND WORKS SECTION.
(N.Z.E.F. Official News Service.)
CAIRO, April 19
There are few services of the Allied forces in the Middle East which do not know the activities of the New Zealand works section, which was officially asked to join the Royal Engineers. That was the Englishmen’s compliment, but when a testimonial like the following was received from miles at sea, what need is there to quote others. Addressed to the present garrison engineer, Captain C. S. Thomas, it reflects equally to the credit of all this section. “This unit of the Royal Navy,” it said, “will not soon forget how much it owes to "certain members of the military forces cf New Zealand.”
