EKETAHUNA

ST. CUTHBERT’S CHURCH PALM SUNDAY OBSERVANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Special music marked the observance of Palm Sunday in St. Cuthbert's Church, Eketahuna. The usual hyms commemorating the triumphal entry into Jerusalem by the Savour were sung—namely, “All glory, laud, and honour, to Thee, Redeemer, King,” and “Ride on, ride on in Majesty.” The main act of devotion was the “Story of the Cross” sung by the Choir. It is divided into five sections—The Question, The Answer, “The Story of the Cross.” “The Appeal from the Cross.” and “Our Cry to Jesus.” The first section was a solo by Miss M.) Wilson, the second and fourth solos by the vicar, the boy soloist in the third being Master Robin Raleigh. Great credit is reflected upon all who took part for the sympathetic and effective rendering of this Passiontide devotional music. The lessons, address (based upon the programme of Nazareth, Luke 4, 18) and the psalm were all appropriate to the occasion. The concluding hymn was “My Lord, my Master, at Thy feet adoring, I see Thee .bowed beneath a load of woe.” Miss M. Wilson presided at the organ.
