* MASTERTON CLUB. WAIRARAPA CHAMPION FOURS. (Notes by “The Bowler.”) A match for the Wairarapa champion fours was played on the Masterton Club’s green on Saturday last. The competing teams were: J. Campbell, W. Reid, W. Hendry, and H. N. Freeman (s), of the Masterton Club, and Hughan, Curtis, Riggs and Sorensen (s), of the Carterton Club, and the result was a win for Masterton by 3 points, the final scores being: Masterton 23, Carterton 20. The game was closely contested up to the 17th head, the scores being Masterton 15, Carterton 15. On the’ next head, Masterton scored 7 points, giving them a lead of 7 points, with 3 heads to play, and Carterton were unable to make up the deficiency. I congratulate the Masterton Club on being the holders for this season of the Centre champion fours. HANDICAP SINGLES. In the final of section B, Johnstone (handicap 14) beat W. Davies (3) by one point.
