4 CITIZENS’ SERVICE A LARGE ATTENDANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a large attendance at the citizens’ service in the Town Hall last night. The Rev. H. Bloomfield presided, and the Rev. J. R. Higgs read the lessons. Miss Jamieson sang two solos which were much appreciated. The Home Guard, Scouts and Girl Guides were in attendance. Dance in Town Hall. A successful dance was held in the Town Hall on Saturday night when there was a large attendance. The music was supplied by Mr Len Daysh’s Orchestra and extras were played by Misses N. Tooker, C. Saba and Mr D. Love. The M.C. was Mr P. Habib. A competition was won by Mr J. Wall. The supper tables were beautifully decorated with flowers given by Mrs Riddiford. Haunui Croquet Club. The Haunui Croquet Club closed the season on Saturday. A successful bring and buy stall was conducted by Mrs Buck and Mrs Wilson. The winners of the competitions played were:— French, Mrs Tutbury; peg, Mrs Charles; hurry, scurry, Mrs Tutbury and Mrs Charles. Another competition was won by Miss Viles.. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion, the tables being tastefully decorated by Miss Eva Card, who also welcomed the visitors. COSY THEATRE TWO BIG FEATURES. There will be two big features on Wednesday night. “Ellery Queen and the Murder Ring” is a sensational drama featuring Ralph Bellamy and Margaret Lindsay. “The Blonde from Singapore” stars Florence Rice and Leif Erikson in an outstanding drama.
