MADE ON THE JAPANESE IN BURMA. NO CHANGE ON ARAKAN FRONT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) RUGBY, April 18. A joint Indian communique says: “There is nothing to report from the Arakan front. Yesterday morning R.A.F. Blenheims, escorted by Hurricanes. made a sharp attack, concentrated within five minutes, on seven Japanese-occupied villages in the Foul Point' area and on Akyab Island. Another formation of Blenheims, with fighter escort, bombed enemy concentrations on the coast of the Mayu Peninsula and Hurricanes machine-gunned objectives in the same area. Later in the day medium bombers attacked a railway junction in Upper Burma, with good results. From these and other operations none of our aircraft are missing.”
