REGENT THEATRE

“RIO RITA.” Tonight Abbott and Costello will appear in their funniest picture to date. It reaches a new standard in spectacular “laugh, music and girl” entertainment. Never before have Abbott and Costello so excelled themselves as in “Rio Rita.” They are now in the twelfth year of their partnership as comedians. They are ably assisted in “Rio Rita” by Kathryn Grayson and John Carroll, who furnish the love interest and the songs. Carroll sings the picture’s theme, “Rio Rita.” Patricia 'Dane, Tom Conway, Peter Whitney, Arthur Space and Dick Rich are the spies who are routed in a dramatic finale in a free-for-all fight. It is one of the most laughable pictures ever brought to the screen, and should draw packed houses, as it is an excellent tonic in these strenuous times.
