BREST & LORIENT

ATTACKED IN DAYLIGHT BY HEAVY AMERICAN BOMBERS. EFFECTIVE HITS OBSERVED. LONDON, April 16. American heavy bombers today made another daylight attack on Brest and Lorient. Many bombs were seen to burst in the target area. I Several enemy fighters were shot down. In the attack on Brest the American aircraft were escorted by R.A.F. fighters. Four fighters and one bomber did not get back.
