FEATHERSTON

LEAGUE OF NATIONS MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the League of Nations, Mrs Arch. Clark presided. Mrs Lewis, Wellington, gave an interesting talk on her travels through Java, for which she was thanked. The hostesses were Mesdames Arch. Clark, H. Cundy and C. Buck. Successful Dance. There were about 400 people present last evening at the Town Hall, when a most successful dance to raise funds for the Pelvin Memorial was held. The music was supplied by Mrs Ashton’s orchestra, extras being played by Mrs Alexander, Miss Fraser and Lieut. Gillies. Mr Martin was M.C. The supper ararngements were in charge of Mrs N. Taylor. The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mrs Lowell and partner, and the statue waltz by Miss Guthrie and partner. Croquet Club. The following are the winners of the competitions in connection with the Featherston Croquet Club:—A championship (Eva Card Rose. Bowl), Mrs Saunders; B championship (Wakely Memorial Rose Bowl), Mrs Roy Donald; C championship, Mrs Batchelor; French, Mrs Wakely; golf, Mrs Muir; peg, Mrs Wakely; angles, Mrs Muir.
