The United States Secretary for War (Mr Stimson), according to a Washington message, said the SouthWest Pacific would receive ample aeroplanes to replace all losses and to build up the air forces there sufficiently to couniter the Japanese. He added: “We will keep the needs of the South-West Pacific constantly in mind and there will be a steady and increasing flow of military supplies, particularly aircraft, to that theatre.
