SOCIAL GATHERING PRESENTATION TO MISS J. DICK. (“Times-Age” Special.) A very pleasant time was spent at the home of Mrs J. McAnulty Senr., when friends gathered to make a presentation to Miss Jean Dick, who is to take up duties at the Pahiatua Private Hospital. A game organised by Mrs J. C. McAnulty Junr., was won by Mrs G. Dick. An observation test conducted by Mrs James Dick, was won by Miss Halliwell. The competition for a floating bowl was won by Mrs B. Harvey, with Mrs Oliver second. In making a presentation of a handsome handbag to Miss Dick, Mrs McAnulty spoke of her sterling personal qualities and the large amount of patriotic work she had done. The guest of honour suitably replied. A very pretty posy was presented to Mrs John Dick, the guest’s mother. Miss Dick will take up her duties this week. Personal Items. Mrs V. Falkner is the guest of Mrs Alex. Falkner, of Pinelands. Miss R. Braddick has returned home from Nelson.
