BOMBS ON KONIGSBERG

SECOND RUSSIAN ATTACK IN THREE NIGHTS FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS SEEN. AMONG MILITARY & INDUSTRIAL TARGETS. LONDON, April 13. Soviet planes raided Konigsberg for the second time in three nights. Last night’s raid lasted more than two hours. Several fires and explosions were seen among military and industrial targets. Two bombers did not get back. The Germans attempted a mass air raid on Krasnodar, in the north-west-ern Caucasus. They met with a hot reception, losing 25 planes. No military objectives were hit. NO IMPORTANT CHANGE ON ANY LAND FRONT. ENEMY HEAVILY DEFEATED EAST OF LENINGRAD. LONDON, April 12. A Soviet communique says: “No important changes occurred on any front today.” A supplement adds that in one sector of the Volkhov front, east of Leningrad, the Germans attacked with considerable forces. The first attacks were repelled with heavy losses. A fifth, strongly supported by artillery, succeeded in driving a wedge into the Russian positions, but a counter-attack completely restored the situation. All subsequent enemy efforts were repulsed and, according to incomplete figures, more than 2000 of the enemy were killed and many prisoners taken. The booty included three guns, 11 mortars, 46 machine-guns, and nine radio stations.
