CROQUET SEASON
PARK CLUB’S CLOSING AFTERNOON. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. Members of the Masterton Park Croquet Club spent an enjoyable closing afternoon on Saturday. The president, Mrs I. I. McGregor, welcomed members and honorary members. Posies were presented to the president, captain and secretary. Competitions resulted: —Angles, Mrs Penistone 1, Mrs Bassett 2; circles, Mrs Scrivener 1, Miss Penistone 2; hurryscurry, Mrs and Miss Penistone; French croquet, Mrs McMaster 1, Mrs Bassett 2. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion, and the president presented the trophies for the season as follow: —A championship cup, Mrs Bassett; run-ner-up, Mrs Weller. B championship cup, Mrs B. Thompson; runner-up, Mrs Kingdon. C championship cup, Mrs McMaster; runner-up, Mrs Kennedy; Best Memorial Cup, Mrs McMaster; runner-up, Mrs Kennedy. Scrivener trophy, Mrs Kennedy; runner-up, Mrs McMaster. Special prizes were donated by the captain, Mrs Bassett, for the longest breaks during the season. The .winners were Mrs B. Thompson 1, Mrs McMaster 2.
