1 . 1 r WOMEN’S INSTITUTES MONTHLY MEETINGS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Carterton Women’s Institute was held on Thursday, Miss Wolters presiding. Arrangements were made for the sale of poppies for the R.S.A. on Friday, April 16. Reference was made to the impending dee parture from the district of Mrs Savill and 3 much regret expressed at losing her services. 1 It was announced that the North Island general conference would be held at Gisborne on July 28 and 29 and the selection of a delegate will be decided at the next meeting. Miss Wolters gave a talk on a motor trip to Rotorua via New Plymouth and Te Kuiti, returning by Taupo and Napier. MATARAWA-DALEFIELD. . The monthly meeting of the MatarawaDalefield Women’s Institute was held in the Dalefield Hall, there being a large attendance of members presided over by Mrs Hughes. The competitions for the month resulted:— Seniors: Wholemeal loaf, Mrs G. Sadler 1, Mrs J. Hicks 2, Mrs L. Rogers 3. Flowers, best bloom: Mrs B. Champion 1, Mrs A. ; Goodin and Mrs W. Knowles (equal) 2, Mrs S. Gallon 3. Juniors: Wholemeal biscuits, t Miss B. Sadler 1, Miss J. Conwell 2, Miss P. . Knowles 3. Flowers, best bloom: Miss N. > Conwell 1, Miss J. Goodin 2, Miss B. Sadler • 3. Afternoon tea was served by the junior i members. REGENT THEATRE DOUBLE PROGRAMME. The excellent comedy, “Twin Beds,” featuring Mischa Auer and Una Merkel, and "Give out Sisters,” a comedy starring the Andrews Sisters, will be shown tonight.
