WEDDING
SCARFE—HICKS. The Knox Presbyterian Church was the scene of a pretty wedding recently when Joan Fauvel, only daughter of Mrs R. Russell, of Masterton and the late Mr W. B. Hicks (late of Dannevirke) was married to Hugh Lindsay, second son of Mr and Mrs W. A. Scarfe, of Hamilton. The bride who was escorted by Mr Russell, wore a gown of heavy magnolia satin cut on simple lines, with a train. Her veil, which was lent by a friend, was worn over her face on entering the church. She carried a sheaf of cream begonias, dahlias and gladioli. A double salmon pink begonia set in the centre made an effective contrast. Miss Reenie Jones, of Masterton, was bridesmaid. She was attired in a pretty frock of powder blue finely corded marocaine with a yolk of fine silk lace to match. Her headdress was a halo of autumn flowers and her bouquet was of salmon pink gladioli, begonias and blue delphiniums. Mr E. J. Aim, of Lower Hutt, brother-in-law of- the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. The reception was held at Mrs Russell’s residence in Chapel Street. The bride travelled in a steel grey tailored costume with black accessories.
