MASTERTON STOCK SALE

DROUGHT CONDITIONS AFFECT SHEEP PRICES.

The present drought was reflected in the condition of sheep, offered at the Masterton stock sale today. With the exception of a good line of store wethers which had not been sold up to the time of going to press, most of the sheep offered were in light condition. Bidding was confined chiefly to butchers’ representatives. Some early prices for fat sheep were: Wethers, 18s 6d to 265; lambs, 19s; ewes, 14s, 2-ths, 18s.
