OPENING ON MAY 1.

SHORT PERIOD FOR DUCKS.

The shooting season for the Wellington Acclimatisation District for hares, cock pheasants, Californian quail and Australian quail will open on May 1 and end on July 31, both days inclusive. The season for gre£, hallard and shoveller ducks, pukeko and black swan will be restricted to 16 days, opening on May 1 and closing on May 16 (inclusive). No person shall in any one day take or kill more than three head of pheasants, three head of black swan, 15 head in all of grey, mallard and-or shoveller duck and five head of pukeko. In the Wairarapa district, however, hares are not protected.
