Lamb, Wether and Ewe Schedules. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board advises that the lamb, wether and ewe schedules in the North Island will be increasefl by one-eighth of a penny per lb. comemncing on April 5. National Savings.
The National Savings receipts at the Masterton Post Office yesterday amounted to £156, bringing the total to date for the week to £2807. The quota is £627. Car Accident.
Platoon Sergeant Smith, of .the United States Marine Corps, was admitted to the Masterton Hospital early this morning with facial injuries which he received when a car he was driving struck a concrete telegraph pole. Apart from the car’s bumpers being stove in and the windshield being shattered, the car was not damaged. Smith was brought to hospital by a New Zealand Army truck from the scene of the accident, which was three miles on the i Carterton side of the Waingawa Freezing Works.
